NFTA 5052857 viewsNFTA #5052 working route 5-Niagara Street from Downtown Buffalo in August, 1979. Sister bus to NFTA #5023, but later production as GM had reoriented the driver's side mirror to facilitate easier adjustment. The second order of RTS-03 buses in 1980 (5066-5078) came equipped with wheelchair lifts and were identified by a large blue wheelchair decal on the right front by the bus number. GMC Motorcoach164 viewsThis has been a longtime idea of mine, basically an RTS on steroids. It would use the same windshield glass and takes some of the components from the RTS -03 and 04. This also uses a twin screw tandem axle reminicent of the Scenicruiser rather than the conventional tag axle.Dec 29, 2010

NFTA 5023937 viewsNFTA #5023 on the now-defunct 9 Parkside route at layover on Kenmore Avenue in 1979. The NFTA was the first order of the 40-foot, 96" wide buses with serial numbers 001-065. Another batch of TH-8603 slopebacks were delivered in 1980 with livery numbers 5066-5078 and were the second order of buses equipped with wheelchair lifts for NFTA Metro Bus.
