Green Lines #361 & 604-1 and RIPTA #8111 on the scrap line at the Rockaway Boulevard garage. Photograph taken by Dennis Shore; collection of Alan Aron.
I am thinking the GBL RTS to the left is 1002 as it was gone long before the other 1000 series buses.

And the bus to the right is RIPTA 8111.

This picture might be taken in 1998 because on an old 1998 post from talk.nycsubway.org someone said they saw a Green Lines RTS-03 at Nimco. Maybe it can be 1002 unless 301-1 to 310-1 or 631-1 to 636-1 had the final paint scheme.

Photo taken at Green Bus Lines Rockaway Blvd. garage, no at NIMCO. GBL RTS to the left could be any RTS03, not 1002 as i stated above.

Then why would that 8111 bus be there?

I posed the question to the NEBusNews Yahoo group. It may have been purchased from Nimco (or elsewhere) for parts. At least one other RIPTA bus, a 4519, ended up at Queens Surface in the 1990s, purchased third-hand from LER Transportation.

Now I guess it can't be 1002 because I looked closely and it looks like a 1 for the end of the number.
